I love the Lord and His church and I hope this blog honors both. We live in a time when Christians need to think hard about how to live for the glory of Christ in a world that increasingly does not understand us. By the grace of God and under the authority of His Word, I hope this blog helps Christians think carefully about what it means to be an elect exile.
I recently graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv Christian Ministry) in Louisville, KY. While in seminary, I worked as a research assistant and intern for Dr. Albert Mohler, president of SBTS. I hope to incorporate much of what I have learned from working for Dr. Mohler into this blog. I am now serving at New Covenant Baptist Church in Albertville, AL as associate pastor where I will oversee student and family ministries among other things. My time at seminary was truly invaluable, but my heart beats for Christ’s church and I am thrilled about the opportunity to help lead NCBC towards greater faithfulness to Christ!
That is my beautiful wife Jennifer Miller Dixon in the picture with me. We got married on August 16, 2008 in Clayton, GA and are both floored by God’s abundant grace in giving us each other!
The only thing that is really significant about me is not really about me at all but about God, who in His infinite mercy and lavish grace, chose to save me from His infinite wrath. I was enslaved to sin, but God freed me from sin and brought me to Himself by the blood of Christ. I am now free to glorify God and enjoy Him forever!
I am interested in applying the gospel to our culture, everyday life, and most importantly, to the church. Thus I hope to write posts that challenge and encourage the church of Jesus Christ to live more faithfully for the glory of Jesus.
